Flower shaped peanut butter & jelly

Image
Actual content will come eventually, but for now I'll share a photo from my best friend's bridal shower: Since the flower girls are so little I figured ham sandwiches and potato salad weren't going to cut it, so I borrowed a pair of cookie cutters from the mother of the bride. Super cute, IMO.

Dawn Hall Cookbooks

I was listening to MBI today and Dawn Hall was on This is the day with Nancy Turner as well as Mid-day Connection talking about her cookbooks so I googled her and was pleasantly surprised to find TONS of free recipes on her website . Green Tomato BLT

Back in April I went to Nashville and while I was there I had a great meal at Loveless Cafe . Well, I've dug up a recipe for the BLT I had. Enjoy, I know I did. 3 to 4 slices of green tomato Salt Black Pepper 1 cup yellow cornmeal 1 cup canola oil 3 to 4 thick bacon strips (cooked) 2 to 3 lettuce leaves 3 tablespoons mayonnaise 2 slices toasted wheat berry bread Season sliced tomatoes with salt & pepper and dredge in cornmeal. Heat the canola oil in a skillet. Fry the tomatoes until crisp and golden brown on both sides. Spread the mayo on the wheat bread. Add lettuce on both sides of the bread. Add the fried green tomatoes and bacon. Build the sandwich and cut in half.

Chocolate Panini

This hot treat is quick and easy to make. Just pick up a loaf of Ciabatta or French bread from your neighborhood Panera Bread and some premium-quality bittersweet chocolate from your grocery. 2 thin slices of Panera Ciabatta or French bread about 1 ounce premium bittersweet chocolate The amount of chocolate used varies depending upon the type of bread you use. The idea is to cover one piece of bread with about 3/8 inch of chocolate. Place chocolate on one slice of bread, arranging evenly and up to 1/2 inch from all edges to allow space for chocolate to melt. Cover with the other slice of bread. Toast on a panini grill, or in a 500 degree oven for 5 minutes on each side. Use tongs to turn the panini to avoid being burned by very hot chocolate drips. Remove from oven when both sides are lightly toasted and chocolate melts. Cool briefly before serving. Warning — the chocolate will be very hot when the panini comes out of the oven. Resist the temptation to bite into it right away! Be su...

Chicken Satay Salad Sammies

Have you ever taken something out of the freezer and placed it in the fridge the night before you need it so that it would be defrosted in the morning only to discover upon going to retrieve said item that it has gone missing? And you're the only person who cooks in the house? That's what happened as planned this meal last week. I took the chicken I was going to use and stuck it in the fridge. Well, I guess I got completely distracted and used it (probably on this ) or else the dog learned how to unlock the fridge, removed the raw chicken flawlessly from the top shelf, ate the chicken and then disposed of the evidence. Now, part of me wouldn't put it past her but I think it just might be a bit of a stretch. I had to go grocery shopping anyway... This is a nice quick one from Rachael Ray , she serves it up as a sandwich loaded with veggies but you could easily ditch the sandwich concept and the chicken would stand well on its own with a salad or something on the side. ...
